Session 7
Psychos on a Psych Ward
Overview
Location: Littlemore Hospital Psychiatric Unit.
Key Themes: Recovery, new revelations about Arcanus Veritas, unsettling visions, and deepening mysteries surrounding the 2D Beast and Weiß Maus drug.
Key Events and Developments
Interrogations
The group wakes up in a small room, interrogated by Sergeant Kenny Kragowski about the incident involving Jerry and the invisible beast.
The room was clear of blood, though Imelda was still covered in it.
Dr Bradley's Notes: Detailed observations on Ellen, Imelda, and Jacob, noting their unusual experiences and abilities.
Stay in the Psychiatric Ward
Duration: 3 days under observation.
Patients:
- Nina: An extravagant woman painting erotic art of a nurse, Hatty.
- Ahmed: A man obsessed with chess and theoretical equations, potentially related to the 2D Beast.
- Roger: A slow, withdrawn gentleman.
- Ellen: Scheduled for transfer out of the ward after Day 3.
Ahmed's Insights: Whispers cryptically about the 2D Beast, calling it a “correction.” He later writes equations about the nature of the Beast, struggling to make sense of them.
Interactions with Dr Bradley
Description of Arcanus Veritas: The AV is a collection of "interesting individuals" with unique skills and experiences. Mr Grey, a figure of influence, selects people with latent talents, including Imelda.
Psychometry and Emotional Vision (Jacob):
- Dr Bradley makes Jacob hold her hands without gloves, allowing him to use his Psychometry, sharing her trauma:
- A younger Dr Bradley holding a crying boy in a room surrounded by occult symbols.
- Her eyes change from green to grey, reflecting her pain and fear.
- Jacob is overcome but calmed by Dr Bradley's comforting touch.
Imelda's New Purpose: Dr Bradley hands Imelda an origami flower, telling her to "Dream." Warns that the current investigation is deemed "very dangerous" by Mr Grey.
Dreams and Visions
Imelda's Dream: Imelda experiences an otherworldly vision:
- Books filled with imagery of waves and moons.
- The walls of the common room dissolve, revealing stars, nothingness, and a golden city with ember spires, purple-leaved trees, and blue trunks.
- A cat leads her to a sandstone structure, where she hears chanting and sees statues of a female figure with pure white skin and black robes, all pregnant.
The Cultists and Bahu:
- A tattooed, robed cultist introduces herself as Bahu of the Sages of Bahu.
- Bahu warns of the hounds (the 2D Beast): "You summoned the hounds."
- The hounds are linked to someone trying to find the Sages, a dangerous individual named Nachahi.
- Nachahi is tied to the Black Lotus, a flower that allows people to uncover forbidden knowledge.
- Imelda is tasked to find the gardener, Nachahi, by locating the source of the Black Lotus.
Jacob's Psychometry: Using psychometry on his Star of David necklace, Jacob feels fear and sees an image of a tall, blonde-haired woman running through a forest amidst explosions. She is identified as Jacob's mother.
Other Developments
- Dr Monroe: Visiting someone in the ward, though not part of the group.
- Ahmed: Writes advanced equations about time and dimensionality, hinting at inconsistencies in reality. He knows Dr Viktor Monroe.
- Sarah Anderson: Continuing to investigate Weiß Maus leads during the group's time in the ward.
Escape
The group are adamant that they can't stay any longer in the medical ward. A fire breaks out in the ward, allowing for enough of an opportunity for the group to escape the facility. They make their way to Sarah Anderson's apartment in an attempt to seek refuge.
Unfolding Mysteries
- Weiß Maus Drug: Sarah's investigations may reveal more about the origins and effects of this dangerous drug.
- The 2D Beast (Hounds): Described by Bahu as the "hounds" and linked to a "correction" of some kind. Its existence may relate to dimensional instability.
- Nachahi and the Black Lotus: Nachahi is a dangerous figure associated with the Arcanus Veritas and forbidden knowledge. The Black Lotus flower plays a key role in uncovering this knowledge.
- Dr Bradley's Past: Her traumatic history with occult symbols and emotional turmoil suggests deeper ties to the supernatural events unfolding around the group.
