Key Events and Developments

Political Chaos in Glenwald

Herr Heinenman's Disappearance: Missing from the planned protest, the mayor covers for Heinenman, though the truth emerges - Heinenman is dead.

The Protest Turns Violent:

  • A mob forms, growing more hostile as tensions rise.
  • The mayor addresses the crowd: "I understand your unhappiness by the events that took place last night."
  • Before the mayor can calm the situation, a gunman on the podium assassinates him.

The Salon and the Art Contest

Finalists Announced:

  • Hermann Wohst: the artist that Jonah was modeling for.
  • Dr. Imelda O'Connor
  • Gustav Tronka: A longtime competitor in the contest.

Frau Gartner's Presence: Fluent in German with hints of French, suggesting refinement and education. Her eyes remain fixated on Jonah, suggesting an unnerving interest.

Salon Interior: Covered in vines and ivy, intertwined in unnatural ways.

Hot Drinks Served: Contestants are offered drinks, though nothing seems unusual about them.

Frau Gartner describes the finalists as "Three bright stars who bring light with them."

Explorations and Discoveries

Ellen: Investigates a weird shed, which leads to her sliding into a hole.

Imelda:

  • Follows Ellen's path and encounters a clearing with a sobbing figure, revealed to be Hermann Wohst.
  • Hermann's skull has two black holes, oozing his brain. He cries out: "It's dark, so dark..."

Jacob:

  • Checks on Jonah's safety but is lured into a room filled with yellow flowers calling his name.
  • As he investigates, spores are released, and he falls unconscious, feeling a hairy appendage dragging him.
  • Awakens bound in another room, surrounded by other captives. An altar stands in the centre, where Frau Gartner slices a body, consuming flesh and soil in a horrific ritual.

Imelda's Nightmare

Imelda enters a room of black flowers, their petals shimmering like the night sky but with human teeth at the base. The soil beneath the flowers moves like it's breathing, adding to the eerie atmosphere. From the ceiling, long legs descend, revealing a giant spider with a human skull for a face. The creature bites Imelda in the chest, its thousands of teeth sinking into her flesh and blinding her.

Climactic Confrontation

Ellen Finds Imelda: Enters a room where Imelda's feet are suspended off the floor.

Frau Gartner's Ritual: At the altar, she skins and dismembers a body, consuming the pieces along with soil in an obscene display.

Jacob's Psychometry on Weiß Maus Liquid: He experiences the pain of dissection, feeling soil forced into his throat.

The Man from Israel: Jonah emerges from the darkness, he slices Frau Gartner in half with chilling finality. He then drops his form and disguises himself as Frau Gartner. Addresses Jacob with unnerving confidence: "I'm a man that doesn't lose, Jacob. I never lose."

Unfolding Mysteries

  • The Giant Spider: The monstrous spider with a human skull face is a chilling manifestation of the horrors connected to the black flowers.
  • The Man from Israel: His cryptic statements and decisive intervention raise questions about his identity and goals.
