Drawn to the continent of Drelidin in search of adventure, Rae and Damthus arrive in the capital city of Lunaris as preparations begin for the annual festival. Among eccentric inventors, black market informants, and monster hunting guilds, the pair take on work in pursuit of coin - only to find themselves caught in the middle of something far larger than they ever expected.

Leaving Lunaris behind, Rae and Damthus journey north following clues uncovered within an ancient dungeon. Along the way they encounter griffins, a village hostile to magic, and figures from the past, as their path leads them through noble balls, deadly dragon fights, and even the planes themselves. But close behind follows a dangerous group devoted to the so-called Banished Prince, willing to do whatever it takes to reach their goal.

Separated and scattered across the continent, Rae and Damthus find themselves walking very different paths. In the city of Sidronia, Rae joins forces with Eldazad, a vedalken Warden whose visions foretell the two are destined to adventure together. Amid gang wars, hidden vampire assassins, and suspiciously obvious traps, the pair uphold the law while forging bonds that will shape their future.

In the final chapter of their journey, Rae and Eldazad travel north to the frozen city of Tunfrust in search of the last piece of the puzzle. There, they battle a polar beast alongside a band of drunken monks, uncover long-buried truths about family and faith, and follow one final premonition pointing them back to where it all began - Lunaris.

Gathering allies from across their travels, Rae and Eldazad prepare for a final assault on the resting place of the Banished Prince. His followers seek to restore him to power and reclaim Drelidin in his name, forcing the pair into a battle filled with towering dinosaurs, strange worm-formed entities, and the return of old allies for one last stand.
